Media & Intelligence
for Africa’s
Creative Future.

Who
We Are.

We are a media and intelligence company that helps people and organisations understand, engage with, and invest in Africa’s creative economy — through the stories we tell, the data and insights we produce, and the communities we build.

Africa’s creative economy is one of the continent’s fastest-growing sectors, but it is also one of its least understood. The intelligence required to navigate it — to invest well, to build durably, to position correctly — has never been gathered in one place, until now.

Communiqué exists to change that. Through rigorous editorial coverage, proprietary data, and structured intelligence, we give decision-makers the clearest possible picture of a sector in motion. Our work is free from hype and commercial noise, so that the people who rely on us can act on the best available evidence.

We provide unparalleled storytelling, intelligence, and community engagement.

Media

Our flagship newsletter reaches readers in over 100 countries. We report on the people, companies, policies, and forces shaping Africa’s media, music, film, and technology sectors.

Research & Advisory

We uncover hidden insights and turn them into research reports, bespoke research projects, and campaigns for partners who want to better understand and engage their stakeholders.

Events

We convene the people building and investing in Africa’s creative economy through industry gatherings, roundtables, and other programmes. Our events are designed to move conversations forward.

Culture doesn’t exist in isolation — it shapes how people spend, where they live, what brands they trust, and which leaders and ideas they believe. That means the creative economy’s reach extends far beyond music, film, and fashion, into consumer behaviour, urban development, technology adoption, diplomacy, and policy. Yet there is no reliable, consistent source of data or intelligence on the people, companies, and capital shaping it — meaning investors don’t always have the right strategies, policymakers often misdirect their budgets, and brands engage far too often on instinct rather than insight. Communiqué exists to close that gap by building the intelligence infrastructure this sector needs to be taken seriously and understood properly by everyone whose work revolves around culture, whether or not they call it “the creative economy.”

What They
Say.

At Moniepoint, we are building a global company that powers the dreams and aspirations of Africans. Communiqué has played a key role in our drive to build that global brand. The brand has proven trustworthy, and the team is dedicated to doing high-quality work.

Communiqué embodies the collaborative and warm spirit of Africa's creative economy, bringing together a community of thinkers, doers, and innovators. By fostering important conversations and amplifying emerging voices, it creates opportunities for creatives to connect, grow, and shape the industry's future. We are proud that we supported the Communiqué IRL.

The work Communiqué did on the Nigerian Creator Economy Report 2025 represents the kind of rigorous thinking and data-driven insight our ecosystem urgently needs. Nigeria is home to Africa's largest and most dynamic creative economy, yet for too long the sector has grown faster than the data and intelligence available to understand it. Communiqué has helped bridge that gap through reliable research, credible data, and stories told with clarity and depth.

At Sporty Group, we operate across multiple African markets and work with some of the continent's biggest cultural and sporting figures. Communiqué has been a trusted partner in shaping and executing our communications and media strategy across the region, including managing pan-African media relations for one of our largest marketing campaigns featuring Burna Boy and other leading sports and cultural icons. The team demonstrated strong strategic thinking, deep media relationships, and a clear understanding of Africa's cultural landscape. Their ability to connect brand storytelling with the dynamics of culture and media in Africa makes them an invaluable partner.
